Got a question? Something you might be worried about? Read our FAQs for a quick run-down of what you need to know.
What is animation and how is it different from a video?
Video is usually recorded using a camera, the animation is designed and built using software, we happen to use an array of Adobe products for this animation process. Animation also allows you a lot more flexibility than video. If you want to create an animation about talking bears it’s far easier to create talking bears using animation than to track down talking bears to film using traditional video. In other words, animation allows you more creativity.
How can animation video be used for business?
Animated videos for business are a great way to share your story, show the human side of your business, and communicate highly complex ideas in an easy-to-digest manner. Animated video is a vibrant, engaging medium that is cost-effective, easy-to-manage, and will help your key points pop.
What should be in my video brief?
The best briefs are crystal clear on the purpose of the video, where it will be seen, and who it’s speaking to. You could include your brand guidelines and a description of your brand’s personality, but we don’t need them to start the ball rolling. Either way, a clear brief lays a good foundation for what follows. If you don’t have a brief, no worries, drop us a line and we’ll arrange a call and create it with you.
Do we need to meet face-to-face or can we work remotely with you on a process?
Since we are a virtual organization, we are very comfortable working remotely with customers on projects. Between FTP uploads, emails, Skype and phone/web conferences, etc…you may feel like we’re working right next to you anyway.
How long should my video be?
This depends on a number of variable but most of our videos tend to be less than 2 minutes. The biggest reason is the longer your video gets, the less engaged your audience is. When it comes to online video, brevity is key and our blog post about online video engagement with statistics shows why. If you REALLY have a lot to say it is usually a better plan to produce multiple videos and let the viewers choose the shorter bits of content they are most interested in.
My project requires multiple animated videos, do you offer a discount?
Many of the assets created in the first animation can be applied to other videos in the series saving time and reducing the overall cost of the project. Contact us for more information about the cost of your project.
How long will it take to make my video?
It varies according to the nature of each client’s video, but we always say to allow between 2 and 4 weeks. This gives us enough time to go through the process and you enough time to share your insight, give feedback and sign off. But if you need the video earlier – and you’re happy to spend less time providing feedback or making changes – then we’ll keep that in mind when planning the stages. We also give you a full schedule before we start so you’ll know what to expect and when.
